Hoover Bucs hire Drew Gilmer as next Head Coach
Hoover has found their guy.
First announced by D. Mark Mitchell of IHeart Radio, Drew Gilmer is expected to leave Clay-Chalkville High School for Hoover. The Hoover City School Board would still have to approve him.
Gilmer is 81-12 in 7 seasons with the Cougars. He boasts a 20-5 playoff record and two Class 6A State Titles, one in 2021 and one recently in 2023. He also has 2 Class 6A Semi-Final game appearances.
Looking towards Hoover: The Bucs are coming off their worst season since 1998, but there is no doubt that talent lies in that city, and all it takes is a coach to unlock that.
